What a shame. Beautiful facilities built for these athletes and now just a total waste of money. The way it was rolled out was horrific and left many athletes and there families in despair.

Criminal what UB did. They have completely ruined their reputation by all parents of student athletes.

To sacrifice four sports for financial gain to the remaining sports, is turning a blind eye to the underlying problems. This is not the way you fill stadiums and generate Alumni support. I hope the university reconsiders this decision

Keep UB women's rowing! Do not eliminate sports in budget. Sports provides team building skills that our country is lacking in our adult population.

so sad how you save 2m dollars and ruin the seasons of so many girls. You should be ashamed. Maybe if you didn't take the entire football team offsite to stay in a hotel the rowing team would still have a team

Shame on you U@B, What a terrible decision to single out and eliminate some of the teams representing the University. I'm left to wonder if the individuals making these decisions even researched other options such as asking every team to make cutbacks so that all teams could remain viable. Definitely will not be getting any donations and/or future support from myself or my family....as my daughters team (rowing) was one of the sports being eliminated. AGAIN, SHAME ON THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY FOR HIS SHORT SIGHTEDNESS. I also question the timing of the announcement....surely you must have known your intentions before April! The University SCREWED OVER all the athletes, by letting them know so late in the year, so even if they wanted to transfer...most colleges already used up their money on new recruits. I truly hope this decision reflects negatively on U@B and they get all the bad publicity they deserve. I lost a lot of respect for the University, regarding how they handled this situation. Peter G. How could you do this to the athletes they have worked so hard academically and within their sport and then you tell them this at the end of their season! Atleast give them notice in advance so they can start looking at schools to transfer to that they can be in that sport some students need their scholarships in order to even attend college. This was not vey thought out.

Very disappointed in an incredibly late stage decision. Consider planning 24 months in advance.

It is appalling that UB would cut three sports teams this late in the year for next year. You are literally ruining students lives!
