I was part of the women's swimming and diving team the year that the women and men converged under one coaching staff. I know first hand how detrimental both teams are to each other. Swimming is an absolutely amazing sport that teaches you so many invaluable life lessons. I graduated and went forward completely prepared for life. I owe this to the years of hard work and perseverance the sport taught me. By cutting this program you are not only losing a sport, but also intelligent, hard working, high achieving students that would serve this university well.

I know about the realities of athletic financial decisions but that doesn't make it easy to accept. I'm 65 and I still swim Masters. It keeps me healthy and an assortment of other benefits. Please reconsider your decision.

GCU Swimming & Diving supports you. We have a DI athletic program that is thriving WITHOUT the money drain of football. It can be done!

College swimming was such an instrumental part in my, and my husbands, growth and development. There are thousands of boys out there that deserve a chance to add a swimming college career to their experience at UB. It's not the most popular sport at the Olympics for nothing!!

It's not fair to the students who had their eyes set on it and are already on the team playing their best. They should get a say

The defunding of these sports teams is absolutely absurd and unacceptable. This is not what the UB community is about.
