As a student-athlete it is heartbreaking yet again to see another MAC school get rid of more sports programs. Please reconsider as I would hate to hear that this actually goes through. These are hardworking athletes and do not deserve to get there programs cut.

Why not make an appeal to the community instead of just pulling the plug with no warning.

Very sad for the athletes. So late in the year, how can they apply to other colleges and re-earn athletic and academic scholarships? Seems unreasonably unfair and very inconsiderate of countless young adults who made a commitment to UB.

If you have one swim team.. why not two... this has to be demoralizing for the women's swim team... this is just awful... cut janitors, or something else. Cut the catalogues, the brochures.. not sports.

What are your plans for the kids who have signed letters to play for your school? What are they to do, what about the athletes who have been playing sports at UB what will you do for them?

This decision shows NO RESPECT for the hard working and incredibly successful swim team.

Two million dollars? Why not have some administrators take some pay cuts? I am sure a flat rate pay cut across the board would allow these programs to continue. If you really care about these students, you would look at every possible option before sending your students packing.

Athletics are a key element of a balanced undergraduate experience. Please consider reinstating these teams.

This financial decision needs to be reversed, as it is clear that someone has forgotten that not only are your athletes recruited for their unparalleled talents in the sports arenas at UB, but they are exemplary students that your University has attracted AND recruited for their academic abilities and true leadership and work-ethic qualities. What a shame it would be for your decision to result in the loss of the talented athlete that is attracted to your division 1 programs----but even more devastating, that the University would even think to forego such devoted and high achieving student leaders and achievers that also happen to be gifted on the field or in the pool----please reverse this decision !!

This is greatly disappointing to hear UB is discontinuing theses 4 programs and you don't take anything away from the football program. Also, why was the students voices not heard? I will advise young people to choose another college and I will not come to watch a UB football game. Very sad!
