Cutting these programs is not good for growing our youth and the community as a whole.

Please do not punish these talented young athletes with unexpected cuts. Manage your budgets and find ways to include sports that athletes work their whole lives to do in college. Accountability starts at the top. Stop the layoffs with the students being treated like unwanted employees.

This school should be ashamed of themselves for cutting these athletic programs. Anything to save a buck.
Buffalo has a storied history of rowing. I urge you to reconsider all the athletic cuts at UB and take a more realistic look at the financial upside vs. downside of UB Football.

How dare they! The athletes sacrificed so much for their teams, just to be told that it was a waste? Re-allocate the budget without removing such important extra curricular causes!

The Sports are an integral part of College life. Keep all sports, men and women.
Sports make men and women out of kids. Shame on you for cutting out sports.
Don't use the sports $$$ for other non-essentials.
Francine Hart, born and raised in Buffalo. Went to a lot of the sports activities and
enjoyed them.

Myself and my family strongly believe that UB has weakened their position as a leader among colleges and universities. This is not just a financial consideration, UB has responsibilities to uphold a position as a role model for human interactions and social examples. Athletic teams are not just about playing a sport. These teams have served western NY in so many different ways. Of the two children we have who attended UB and swam for the college, one teaches autistic students and the other one works with foster children. UB swimming contributed to their life choices. This story does not even begin to address the many young minds who look to the university as a well rounded community resource.

UB's sports teams are at the heart of what drew me to my Alma Mater. I treasured the diversity of activities- from ballets to tailgating football games to watching the baseball team and cheering on the swimmers and divers. Teams and students who work hard and succeed should not be punished for a poor choice of priorities on behalf of the administration.

Absolutely ridiculous! Taking away athletic programs from PAYING students without any warning is also depriving them of their athletic potential. How about you cut some of the spending for our (not so great) football team??

Horrified.
Satish K. Tripathi is highly paid making horrible decisions. Maybe he should cut his salary so we don't have to cut sports.
