This is absolutely unfair to all of the hardworking athletes who may have even passed up scholarships/opportunities at other universities! I am truly saddened to hear that the administration would choose to deprive the students of the opportunity to represent their school through athletics when almost all of our universities provide these opportunities. I believe that if this remains in effect, UB will see a drastic reduction in enrollment in the next school year, as well as, an increase in students transferring out to other universities that do provide opportunities.

If they are successfully doing well why cancel the swim team that's not fair.

This decision has affected the lives of many athletes. I am appalled that an institution of education would not take into consideration the well being and the state of mind of all athletes and families affected. Shame on you UB.

Remember when UB would spend over $70,000 for the football team to stay in hotels for home games...

Shouldn't you have known the programs we're gonna close? Why commit kids when you saw this coming. Moves like this don't just happen out of the blue....come on now

This was done in poor taste from UB's perspective and only furthers my belief that UB is the biggest joke of a SUNY school.

There are many other ways to save. Cut down on some of the extravagences spent on the football team which will never be missed.
