I am so proud of my nephew for taking a stand on something he is a part of and believes in.

An awfully bad decision! Left ALL student athletes out to dry! Still time to make amends and correct this mistake.

Think about students and families and how you will affect their lives. Student-Athletes who committed to UB did not apply to any other college because they were promised to be part of the UB athletic program. Their future have been put in jeopardy for the 2017-18 school year. A decision of this magnitude and at this time of the school year is catastrophic. My son is an honor roll high school senior student-athlete that was part of the upcoming 2017-18 baseball team and now he cannot find any private or SUNY school that has scholarship money. Not only that but most schools have already passed their application dead line. How is it that a State school cannot find $2 million to support the students in their future education and possible sports career. How is it that a "smart" high level college administration cannot find ways to fund the school athletic programs? Some of the interviewed students gave ideas on the spot on how to find possible solution to this nightmare. We are sure that the school administration has some emergency funds in a separate account. We are confident that these programs will be restored to allow the student-athletes to continue with their career goal. If the Federal Government was able to rescue major Banks and lend them billions of dollars, how is it that the State cannot rescue a State University to support their students?

This is inexcusable all of these teams getting cut have had better seasons that the football team. Really shows that UB doesn't care about its best athletes and only cares about the TV time the university COULD get IF the football team started winning games

More and more it is clear football is god- let it go and bring back other sports.

Keep the sports! Don't bail on them because of the admins mismanagement of funds and lack of forward thinking.

The decision to cut these teams from your budget is so unfair to these athletes, A decision this late in the year leaves them no time to transfer to another school or even give them time to consider other options. This is wrong in many ways.

Cut instead the violent, gladiator sport football, that maims our young people.

How is this a wise "financial" cut? You still have to maintain the pool and training facilities for the women's team and coaches. You have a strong local feeder system and a strong Men's team. It's great marketing to keep the program. You'd be better off to trim budgets from the "big" sports that aren't generating "big" income. Bring in strong fundraising/marketing firms and use the success, the story of these local athletes building this strong team to your advantage! The potential is there, USE it, Don't CUT it! For once, give this sport the chance it deserves instead of just doing away with it because you don't really know about the heart, soul, family, passion, love, dedication, and sacrifice these swimmers pour into their sport, their life....often times from young ages like four, five, or six. GIVE THESE BOYS A CHANCE. You won't be sorry!

This is a big problem. Administration is corrupt. The Board of Trustees, President and his chief of staff are living in a bubble. Literally just cut 4 teams for a football team that has been D1 struggling for 20 years. The community has spoken. The team is ranked 126 out of 128 D1 teams. They are already over spending. They can't even give away the football tickets. They just elimated more seats by alienating an entire population that once supported them. The scary thing is they think this will go away....this has left a deep scare that will not go away. The seats will be empty come fall.

I think it's absolutely disgusting that a college would cancel sports when so many young hardworking men and woman are committed to play here as well as already play here. I don't even go here and am outraged.

As a UB alumni and supporter of the Men's Swimming & Diving team I am disgusted by this week's events. The University leadership should be ashamed of themselves.
