Please help save this team!
The president and council decided without notice to get rid of this program after 68 years. President Tripathi won't even meet with anyone.
Incoming freshman have no where to go and the university was still recruiting the night (with recruits in town) before the announcement because no one told the coaches. That's bad faith, bad business from a university.

You were once the institution that I could stand up and be proud of. The current culture that has displayed the lack of values it once had is not only a disservice to the public but it is depriving many of a future. The school lacks spirit and that is in direct correlation to it's leader. Many years ago even while the institution was still one in which incorporated lecture halls of 500+ there was a spirit of the student. As leaders have come and gone during the last 20 years so has the spirit of putting students first.
At the very least isn’t the student the consumer? Doesn’t the student have a voice of what they want their experience to be? Isn’t the entire purpose of a student experience just that...an experience that includes a diverse offering of activities in many facets? Who is to decide the value of a work of art, the value of science, the value of philosophy, or the value of sport?
While I currently sit here completely bewildered as to the lack of leadership and cowardly way a president and trustees hide at a Research 1 university when making decisions.
The decisions they made behind closed doors not only impacted the lives of students, families…it impacted a community that now has a lack of opportunities for their future children.
Many of the trustees continue to sit behind the comfort of their homes and private offices never to experience the impact of their decision.
The decision was made by literally a group of individuals that have group think...or limited cerebral capability to understand the value of sport, the impact of competition at a D1 level molds a successful professional that will eventually be your donor... Look at the who your local businessmen are? They are not just football and basketball.... The existing trustees that were

For years I had dreamed of playing division I soccer. As I grew older I realized that U.B. was the place for me. I concentrated my efforts to become the best player I could so I could become a Buffalo Bull. Finally I reached my goal, for a few short months I was beyond excited and had so much pride for my school that I wasnt even a student at yet. Looking forward to the next four years and what UB had to offer, I could not have been happier. Then suddenly it was gone. Myself and many friends are left with two options, give up what we love and have been doing almost everyday since we could kick a ball or to scramble around looking for another school last minute. Dreams and futures crushed and for what? To save a little money.

UB BS Arch '14 Alumnus, cutting these sports teams is despicable. And for what? Keeping a losing football team?

How could you make these cuts hurting all these student athletes that work so hard? So you have more money for your football team that never has been and never will be what you are hoping for? You should be ashamed of yourself! My son and many of his teammates have worked so hard for years and thousands of hours with the dream of swimming at UB. How can you take that away from these children? Your men's swimming and diving team just finished a phenomenal season~ can you say that about your football team? Ever? I didnt't think so.

I love soccer and would hate it to be cut. Soccer has transformed me mentally and physically. And the fact that they're are taking this away from this students is diminishing. I could only wonder how they feel. I hope UB could find another way towards their goal.
