Nothing like being awakened by guns on a Saturday or Sunday morning. How about some reasonable time limits?
I am aware that duck hunting is legal, but could it be started after 7am to be reasonable?
If landscapers, earning their living, must adhere to the rules on protecting the "peace" by not using their loud equipment earlier than the allowed time frame, duck hunters who "kill" ducks for sheer "sport," should have to obey the same rules.
Even landscapers and carpenters can't disturb the peace until 7 am. How is this allowed?
Allowing Duck hunting 500 from residents homes because hunting has historically been permitted on the North Shore of Long Island, is about as sound as permitting it in Central Park. It is completely outrageous, antiquated and dangerous. Residents pets have been shot in the past, and it is just a matter of time until a child is shot.
Duck hunting should be done after 7 or 8 on weekends.
I hope that the DEC and Town of Brookhaven are actively working toward a solution to this issue! No one should be disturbed by gunfire in their homes!

Hunting should only be allowed after 7 or 8 am so as not to disturb the peace in residential areas. This is common sense!!
