STOP THE CRAIGLEITH DEPOT $6.5M 8500 SF LIBRARY EXPANSION

Stop the proposed Craigleith Depot Library Expansion, which will cost Blue Mountain Taxpayers at least $6,5 Million to start, another $300,000/year, and create a completely unnecessary 8500 SF building on the outskirts of town. Much larger towns like Collingwood, Meaford, Owen Sound and Wasaga Beach have one library each, we do not need another one. The planned expansion will not serve the vast majority of Blue Mountains residents, who already have a centrally located library, and the proposed library expansion is much closer to Collingwood residents and schools than to those in Blue Mountains. The money which is planned for this expansion could be much better allocated to a rec centre, affordable housing, transportation system, or many other uses to be decided upon by Blue Mountains residents and their representatives.
