The Canadian government declared during its throne speech that environmental assessment institutions are crucial to maintaining sustainable development and that the Canadian government is committed to improving the environmental assessment process. However currently the government is cutting a third of its staff within the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, and it is reasonable to assume the worst has yet to come, and the agency its self is in jeopardy.
