Just finished common core math homework with my son. The methods used to solve problems are cumbersome and lead to slower learning and frustration.

If this continues eventually we'll be told what we can and can't teach our children altogether.

Gov. Deal, You have an opportunity to affect powerful change for the future of our children. Please stand strong for truth and liberty on behalf of families in Georgia! Thank you for all your hard work!

At any time that anybody tries to rewrite our history books about this country and the way it was founded, then it time to say something to the federal government. If it was up to me, the dept of education would be abolished. Not only are they trying to ruin our childrens education, but they are stealing our tax dollars for the use of teachers unions interest. All I have to say is thanks to obama, carter and the rest of their party, they are killing this nation. If this makes a teacher mad, well so be it, but this country needs to wake up and get back to some common sense living. What's worse, carters grandson wants to run for govenor and we know where he came from. I love Georgia, but this nonsense has to stop and it starts when the voters tell the the so called "we know better tan you crowd" no.

I had four children in the publuc school system, 1st,5th,6th&8th grades. I now have taken my first grader out and am close to doing the same with the rest to homeschool. As a past educator, I can definitely do better at home than what is being taught at school especially with this new curriculum that is dumbing down lessons instead of pushing children to do their best. My children aren't robots and no children learn in the same manner, at the same speed or have the same interests so creating a curriculum which tries to group them all into one group is beyond stupid and unfair to our children.

Education should not be one size fits all.

My child in the fourth grade went from A's to F's! As a mother I don't understand how to help her because common core makes NO sense to me or my Physician husband! She's in danger of REPEATING the fourth grade because of this! This HAS to stop! Not all kids learn the same and we are teaching them that they all have to fit in one box and become little robots.

Please protect our freedoms as a state and country. Our children's future is at risk; their freedoms and privacy, as well as our own. If we do not protect our privacy now and our freedoms now, we are blindling handing it over in submission. I just learned about the programs where school districts are using government funded devices (IPads, computers) to spy on students at home. You realize, once the school does that they violate EVERYONE'S privacy, not just the child's, and it gives the government a loophole to violating our constitutional freedsoms. GPS is also on these devices. Since WHEN does the school system have the RIGHT to track our personal activities, or our childrens'. and intrude upon our homes? Since WHEN do they have a right to punish a child for doing something in the privacy of his own home? Where will the line be drawn in the sand if we continue to freely throw away our freedoms our forefathers and those serving have fought so hard to protect? Money is being used by the government to lure and entrap us into bondages we cannot afford.

CC math is the most ridiculous and senseless I have ever seen. And we wonder why our kids are so math illiterate??? Who could possibly figure this out? Math was always my best subject and I can't even begin to get the thought process.

Please look at the effects of this on our kids! We have more than ever failing Math! My son tested POST high school in state testing in FIFTH grade, but since common core was implemented he has been failing math! What purpose could it possibly serve our children to take a once 2 step math solution, and make it over 100 steps?! Aren't we trying to keep up or exceed? All I can see this is doing is slowing them down, and costing many of them chances at college scholarships, etc. by ruining their GPA's! Someone had to say THE MONEY ISN'T WORTH THE HARM TO THE KIDS' FUTURES! Someone has the power to stop this. PLEASE look at what this is doing to the kids and the damage to their futures vs. a temporary monetary value in state funding.
