I'm from another state, but I support georgia and their cause and hope they will support us in return when we have to fight the same battle

Remove Federal Government from our Education System

please don't let this common core business control our schools.

I really do not like government involvement for these schools. We need to go back to the basics for education and really educate our children.

Please stop the common core!

I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS COMMON CORE CRAP FOR MY CHILD'S EDUCATION !!!!!!!! We the parents / taxpayers that fund these schools will have the final say in this matter !!!!

Our children are not being taught the skills they need how to be able to think and reason for themselves. Common core = a lowest common denominator education for all. If we are striving for the "dumbing down of America", we are succeeding.

Common core must end. If. Do keep common core we need to get parents and teachers on the same page. I feel common core is very hush hush.

Common Core MUST be stopped. If we go down this path we will take away the creativity of our youth. They will no longer have the opportunity to "think outside of the box" and to explore new things because they will be so "boxed" into a way of thinking and doing things. This must be stopped!!

Isn't education about learning skill and critical thinking? It's shameful how perverted education has become in the USA!

This is not helping education but hurting our children learning. It is important to learn and retain, not be timed and how fast it can be done.

We need to get back to the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic's. What was wrong with the old way of learning we built America using it.

I can't even help my child with his homework because 1st grade math is now extremely confusing!! There is no paperwork sent home telling parents how we should be explaining math to our children! When I try and teach my son, it just confuses him more! I'm told he is behind on subtraction, yet I know for a fact he can subtract very well, just not the way they want him too!! So extremely frustrating!!!

Wendy, I had exactly the same problem. When my son was in Kindergarten he could add and subtract very well because he wanted his parents to show him. First grade math he started off in the "E" category and is now in the "S" category because the dot counting confused him. I am not happy about common core at all. I plan to teach my children "the proper way" in case we can't get rid of this garbage system.
