This stuff is ridiculous, the amount of time that it takes to even teach it is cutting out on the basic school work such as cursive writing....guess everyones signature will be in print one day. Obummer needs to sit down with a group of 1st graders and explain the 10 steps to subtract 40 from 50...bet he couldnt if he tried.

Databasing children is about control not education. Common core must be repealed!

. Under the Constitution, education belongs to individual states. It is illegal for the federal government to interfere in the states’ right of making educational decisions. National standards are illegal. National data collection is illegal. And the General Educational Provisions Act prohibits the federal government from directing education –very, very clearly: “No provision of any applicable program shall be construed to authorize any department, agency, officer, or employee of the United States to exercise any direction, supervision, or control over the curriculum, program of instruction, administration, or personnel of any educational institution, school, or school system, or over the selection of library resources, textbooks, or other printed or published instructional materials by any educational institution or school system…“

I have a first grader and cannot believe that she is encouraged not to carry and borrow but to DRAW PICTURES!!! -- Seriously?!?!? I understand that some children need to go the picture route but some do not...

It is disservice to the students of Georgia. I do not have a teachers degree, but I could run circles around common core.

Not only is my son in the general education, he is also in the gifted, and the special education as well, as he has high functioning aspergers. H e is not a number, and does not learn on level with everyone else. To hold him to a one size fits all standard, would set him up to fail.

Common Core needs destroyed, bring back teaching. Concerned that kids will be idiot`s before graduation time and have a zero chance in the real world.

We should get rid of the federal department of education. The constitution makes NO provision for this department anywhere in the document. It should never have been created. Just like the EPA.

The 'common core' is the antithesis of education in a free society. It does not educate, it should be eradicated from the face of the earth.

I have seen a significant drop in my daughter's math grades an a significant rise in her frustration level since this has been introduced.

Common Core continues the "dumbing down" of our children. We must return education to local control!
