I am against common core in GA. I pay taxes and was given no say on my child's education. I am unable to assist with homework as the curriculum is confusing to adults. Our kids are given no rights in the outcome of their education. I want the right to say no!

I am the parent of a 1st grader who is very bright and intelligent. I can say after seeing the match problem examples, there is no way an adult as educated as myself could figure it out. Federal government needs to stay out education.

My child attends a great school in Henry County GA. Except one thing- common core. When I explained my inability to help my son with his homework because I could not understand his third grade math, his teacher stated,"It is ok, teach him your way, but he must do it this way on CRCT." I said, but he will be confused. She said, he will use math that way later anyway, so he can learn both. So why do we have Common Core? I can't help, the teacher can't help, my child is not learning anything, he is confused. Stop Common Core! I can't even do 3rd grade math!

The stress and testing on these children is too much. Something has to be done! I have had to take one of my children to a psychiatrist and therapist already, because of the pressure.

Twins are in first grade, if a common sense adult cannot figure out the instructions or just how the teacher came to the answer that they call CORRECT, how in the heck are parents/grandparents/guardian suppose to help the children. This is the most far fetched way of teaching children to learn anything I have ever seen. Our kids are being taught how to pass standardized test! Common Core is the most ill thought out plan our government has come up with yet for the next generation.

Appalled at the lack of knowledge not only compared to when I went to school but even from when my own children went to school. All that I seeing taught is how to pass a particular test, no in depth knowledge at all. Quit dumbing down America!
