Since 1970 student enrollment is up 8%. Duirng the same time teaching staff is up 60%, total staffing is up 84%, and non-teaching staff is up 138%. In the 1950's teachers comprised over 70% of school staff, today they comprise less than 50%. The federal government does nothing well. Get the feds out, get the state out, I want local control.

I have seen a significant decline in my children's education, My Son has dropped from A's to C's and D's now that Common Core is now in place. I also noticed a big difference with my daughter in math since they have changed the way they teach math. She has become completely put off by learning math and of course when I get the packets from her she is doing terrible in the learning process. Not once have I had a teacher notify me that this was becoming an issue. She’s in second grade and I fear that this will change the opinion of her learning abilities.

I have seen a significant decline in my children's education, My Son has dropped from A's to C's and D's now that Common Core is now in place. Common Core needs to GO! Don't go down the path that leads to stifled innovation. The Chinese are prime examples. Correct this issue now before it is to late for Georgia!

Not only do I completely disagree with the inplementation of common standards, I am disgusted with the teacher evaluation systems that will ensure our failure at implementing stadards that are designed to fail our youth. Data driven education has left no time for rigerous planning and teaching. We have no longer the ability to teach. We copy and paste from a document to the students memory.Something has to be done. I have witnessed several veteran teachers in two school districts completely leave the teaching field because they feel they are no longer serving the students. This is a shame. I came into this profession as an educator who loves to teach, inspire, and show students that learning is everything. I will soon leave this profession with the same thought and agenda. This time around I will put myself into a position where I can actually make that happen. Wherever my path takes me, it will never be in the public school system again, unfortunately.

common core makes learning much more dificult. things should be worked out in the most simple possible way so kids can learn correctly. I don't want my daughter in a school with common core witch is most schools now. take it out!!

It should not matter how the answer is arrived at as long as it is correct. This new math makes no sense to the students or parents that have to help with homework.
