The last two years of the Georgia Milestone Test proves that Common Core is a failure. The average state scores in all subjects from grades 3-8 are around 30 to 40%. The test grades like a report card 60 or 70% is a failing grade. It is time to start teaching our students again and follow the lead of the increasing number of states that are repealing Common Core.

Please repeal common core I have a 22 year old daughter that cannot do math thanks now I have a 3,5,7 year old kids that need to learn the right way they are not in college

They are expecting too much of our kids . We didnt learn the work they are doing in 2nd grade until we was in 4th or 5th.

They are testing the children to death. The teachers do not have the time to teach the kids. They need to go back and teach like our teachers did. If the kids did not catch on to the math that day, our teacher would go over it the next day so everyone got it. Teachers today have to teacher the lesson one day and move on the next day. If the children do not understand the teachers still have to move on because the state has them on a schedule. It seems the state only cares about test scores. It is making our children not like school and is making children have anxiety. Teachers need to be able to teach the children so they understand. Don't rush them. If you teach a few days on a subject they understand more. Students need more practice and hands on activities. Instead, teachers are forced to drill them and test them. This is why they need to get rid of common core.

My incredibly bright 3rd grader has given up on math altogether. The teacher is grading correct answers as incorrect because even she doesn't understand it. I have to go back and check the teachers grading bc she, too, has given up. There is no common sense left in math. We had to do a problem today involving counting by 10's. My daughter erupted in tears as she broke out a ten step process, completely missing the simple concept of COUNTING BY 10's in the complexity of this non sensical way of thinking. PLEASE HELP!!

Common core sets irrealistic standards and it is making children to dislike education, as well as teachers do. Education should be enjoable and productive. Education is the pilar of a well founded society. It needs to be established sensically and logically. Common core is just for lucrative bussiness and it is not educational in anyway.

Common core is destroying education. Children do not all learn at one pace, they are not "cookie cutters" we need to allow our children to grow at a pace that is comfortable to them and give them more opportunities and reasons to like to learn and common core is not!! I have seen more kids this year with below "average" grades!! It has to be stopped!

I don't agree with the common core it needs to be removed from the schools. It makes things harder than they need to be and hard the students to understand.

Please rescind Common Core for Georgia students!! I agree that education is extremely important, but this isn't the answer. I have two daughter with special needs and especially my youngest HATES going to school now. It is a major fight every morning and every night getting her ready for bed. Education should be more individualized and focus on quality not quantity. Trying to solve math problems mulitple ways, pushing other religions besides Christianity, the extreme costs and time for testing, it's all rdidiculous and not what OUR children need.
