Who remembers this waste of taxpayer money "chicane"? Last night incumbent West Dundee Board members bragged about this as an accomplishment. Vote them out!! They do not listen to the will of the voters!!

Don’t see the rationale on how it will stop speeders.

Less parking in this area would be not smart. We have so many community events at Gaffleman park it seems unwise to inhibit vendor set up and parking

Speed humps or speed cameras might be something to consider ! They have that in the city of Chicago . Chicago City plows have no problem going over the humps .

Scratching my head as to why the village wants to install one here or one at all in general. They aren't even safe either. What is wrong with the stop sign?

Why waste taxpayer dollars on such nonsense? Quit trying to flex political muscle and spend tax money more wisely. How about actually stopping speeders on 72? The dummy police car near the church does nothing. Everyone knows there’s no one in the car. I drive 25 through the 25 zone (with cruise control on) and so many cars honking at me for obeying the speed limit. Then they race around me and so about 40 mph. After the 25 mph zone it changes to 30 yet no one cares. Not drivers nor the village. Get your revenue that way and then maybe put this chicane in with that money.

I oppose the chicane for Lincoln Ave in West Dundee.

Serious waste of taxpayer money. There is no need for this at this location.

Sorry to whoever thought this was even an afterthought , but this would be a complete waste of money.

All for traffic safety, but this a waste of money. It seems the current efforts have already solved any issues.

Put the money towards police enforcement and issue more tickets.

I’m a tax paying resident. Use this road every day (walking the river walk and driving down Lincoln.). Not needed. No traffic. Period. They just put a stop sign at that location, which is useless.

I would just like to correct some information on this topic so all are fully informed. The chicane as proposed would be temporary specifically to see how they would work, measure effectiveness, in this case reduce speeding, and then evaluate installation of permanent measures if effective. Below is a link that shows a temporary solution similar to what is proposed. The cost for this is $5,ooo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkFVRH6hZjQ The temporary traffic control measures would be removed prior to Nov to avoid any maintenance issues and avoid hindering snow removal efforts . Traffic calming measures are a more efficient and effective way of addressing traffic concerns as they are relatively inexpensive to install, are at the location of concern 24/7, as opposed to traffic enforcement efforts which cannot be at every location all the time and carry high personnel costs.

I agree that it is a road hazard to not be able to plow streets in the winter.
