We're all for pedestrian safety, but these Chicanes are: 1. unnecessary 2. unsightly 3. not a good use of our taxpayer dollars

I agree that another solution should be considered. I think this might cause more accidents then prevent and then it could cost the village A LOT more in law suit. (Why wouldn't a stop sign work? Speed bumps? More police giving tickets?

This is completely unnecessary. I live a block away. The stop sign is more than enough. If there is a resident there that feels that unsafe maybe they should move somewhere more rural. I grew up in a Chicago and the amount of traffic here doesn’t come close to warranting this. I also agree that it would prohibit snow plows, garbage trucks and leaf collection trucks from doing their jobs. It’s also a terrible eye sore and would likely cause more confusion with auto and pedestrian traffic there. Not to mention heritage fest. Wouldn’t that hinder access for the crafters to set up? This isn’t a well thought out idea and most likely proposed for a couple a residents who are paranoid about living there.
