The UNO Bus 712/714 service from the University of Hertfordshire to London is under threat of closure. Unless students object strongly enough, UNO bus services will remove the service and not replace it with an alternative. The 712/714 service provides seamless access for students to the UH campus from Central London. It is a reliable, safe and affordable means of public transport that also serves to augment the rapidly expanding national and international profile of our university. Student needs regarding departure times that will accommodate their timetables have been ignored and the decision to withdraw the route has been made without consultation. The loss of this service will undoubtedly compromise the student experience and the university’s overall recruitment strategy. We ask that plans to deregister the 712/714 route be stopped and that the University of Hertfordshire reassure us that accessibility to our new and improved campus remain part and parcel of its 2020 Estates Vision.
