Please take a moment to read, sign, and pass along this petition. Philly Transportation entered into an agreement with Tank Car Corp of America. They plan to park 85 Yellow School Buses on the Tank Car property, these buses are to be used by the Cheltenham School District. The Tank Car property is located at Walnut Ave. and Oreland Mill Rd. This directly affects anyone who uses Camp Hill Rd. to access the Pennsylvania Turnpike, as well as Route 309 and Pennsylvania Ave. These buses will pick up and return at least twice a day, making our streets congested and dangerous. This has been done both quickly and quietly. The property in question was once a hazardous waste area and has since been cleaned up by the EPA. Do we really want the risk, however minimal? Do you want increased traffic on the streets in Oreland? The buses may have to adhere to planned routes but other drivers, stuck behind one or more of these 85 buses do not...and those drivers will seek alternate routes through Orleand to get to their destinations. Our children ride their bikes on these streets, they play games on our streets..is it worth the risk? Why must we wait until a tragedy occurs until someone takes action? Please sign and pass along..
