WMATA is proposing to cut bus routes by $35 million in the FY 2021 budget.
Some of Montgomery County's busiest bus lines –– Z, Q, L, Y, D and J –– would be eliminated or see large service disruptions. 65,000 Montgomery County residents ride the Metrobus everyday.
If we want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce traffic congestion, and increase economic opportunity, then we need more bus service –– not less.

We need more, and more reliable public transportation, not less. My family uses the J route and we would have to drive should the route be eliminated. That is not the solution to reducing traffic and pollution, and weaning us off of oil and gas.
