Are you aware an 11 storey, 88 room boarding house tower is planned to be built at 295 Bay St, Brighton-Le-Sands where currently The Hellenic, the Optometrist and Bay Espresso stands. Towering over our streets, looking over our balconies and shadowing our beachside suburb - not good for our neighbourhood or for local business.

Further, a mere 22 car spaces will accommodate this development. Where will the additional 66 people living within this tower plus their visitors park? The streets of Brighton-le-Sands are already congested and suffering from a severe shortage of parking due to a lack of car parking stations.

Say 'NO' to the development and help us prove to Council that we are opposed to this development by January 19 2017. United we stand to have this application denied.

Thank you,

The Bay St Action Committee

P.S. Feel free to voice your concerns directly with Bayside (Rockdale) Council before the end of the notification period (19th January 2017). Quote DA-2017/194 and the address, 295 Bay St, Brighton-Le-Sands 2216 when submitting your written letter of concern and email to [email protected].

How is this project of gigantic proportions going to benefit the area. The infrastructure is already struggling and it will be detrimental to the appeal of tourism and day trippers. A greedy grab for money with no concern or consideration for the greater good.

I live right next to a house that has been used as a boarding house and I know quite well., the types of issues coming from it.v Brighton Le Sands used to be a well regarded area, however this perception has been changed and not for the better.

This is a terrible idea! This is a family area and this development is completely inappropriate it will add to the noise pollution which has never been adequately addressed, and make traffic and parking even worse. It will also attract more anti socia behaviour.

Absolutely against this. There are already there are parking issues and this will only worsen them. Not to mention the transient occupants. This building is not needed or wanted here. It's only serving developers, who is looking after the community?

This would be another nail in the coffin for Brighton le Sands. Not only is it an awful looking building, it will attract another undesirable element to the area as well as congestion, over crowding, over shadowing, noise pollution and general extra waste polution.

I strongly oppose this development in its current form. There is not enough parking for the amount of people that will live here, let alone their visitors! Already congested parking in Brighton-le-sands will become drastically worse.

Unsuitable development for the location. Streetscape would be ruined and traffic would be exacerbated.
