Please don't ban surrogate for foreigners in India.

Having had my 3, daughters one aged 4 and Twins aged 1 via surrogacy in India, I can only despair at the proposition of a bill which would effectively deny a lot of couples their chance at having a child. Entering into a surrogacy agreement is done with respect for both sides and with the understanding that each side is getting something worthwhile out of it. Everyone wins, or so it has been in my experiences. I do agree that surrogacy should be regulated but not banned. This will just push this practice underground onto the black market where these women will definitely be exploited. Not only that but the government will be shooting themselves in the foot because the revenue that is generated will be no longer.

Why is the Indian government doing this? are they succumbing to pressure from the American Government. Their actions are also not in line with Karmic thinking which is not all about money but also about doing good deeds.

I strongly oppose the ban. My surrogate is the left one in the picture and she is so so happy to have done it. Please do not ban surrogacy for foreigners.

This is very unfortunate. What will happen to childless couples ? People who are shouting against surrogacy did not go through this pain. And they cannot even provide employment that will bring equivalent money to the surrogate mothers. It is all political.

This is unfair as surrogacy not only helps couples who are unable to carry babies naturally but it also assists the local Indian economy and individuals - as this gives them hope for their families. Its a poor country, one of the poorest countries and the Government is stopping something that is improving the system in India. Not sure why the government would ban surrogacy, it's almost in humane. Dr Patel for example is amazing, she is making the dream of many people around the world come true, in addition she is the most professional Dr - why are you trying to stop the humanitarians dream of Dr. Patel and many women around the world. It's not fair nor right.

This is my daughter's last chance. She has signed a legally binding contract entitling her to 4 attempts. After one changed attempt the law has changed. Surely this is a breach of contract.

Am from Mauritius.. We are people whose ancestors were from India.. My wife is unable to have a child.. Surrogacy is our only option... we have already tried IVF twice... This ban is taking away our opportunity to become parents... This ban is destroying our lives and not helping those who can live from it...

Our hope is that sanity will prevail and couples will be allowed to go to India and pay surrogate mothers without any exploitation if the regulation is clear and clinics are monitored

Commercial Surrogacy to foreigners should absolutely not be be banned in India. It is an act of kindness that one human being gives to another. The outcome changing the lives of both families concerned for the better.
