Stop the ban on Surrogacy in India

i support the couples who are missing a child in their families

Surrogacy is Gokh Daan. We donate blood, we ask people to donate organs. Then giving an infertile couple the gift of parenthood through surrogacy is a daan. Let everyone - Indians , foreigners, everyone benefit from the service. Make the laws so everyone is protected and life can thrive.

Sir, even though we are not living in India but we born in India, and still connected to same society with our other family members. We can only come back with a hope that my parent country will help me to stand without fear in society. U know how it feels when people look towards you with same question everyday , and to get the reply and erase that question from our life we fall back with a hope towards our origin. So pls allow OCI holders to fulfill their empty lives with surrogacy.

People of Indian origin should absolutely be treated as Indian nationals in this regard

Please allow surrogacy to oci. We are born in India, right now Canadian citizens. Why can not we avail surrogacy in India. We have been trying from more than 15 years with so many ivf failed cycles as well. The option of choosing surrogacy should be still applied to us as we are still Indians by birth with oci status.

I support the petition. Surrogacy should be a chance given to all.

Give us the opportunity to be mothers! please. Your country has the best laws in place to protect surrogacy for both the surrogates and the mothers

Wholeheartedly we hope and pray that there will be some changes to this surrogacy law of “only Indian married couple”. We are Indian too but we currently are US citizens There are many like us who were born in India. Therefore we are INDIAN by BIRTH. Many countries allow DUEL NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP. Why not India? Indian Government does not allow “dual citizenship” for NRIs. So we feel that many Indians who were born in India and are not getting fairly treated and deprived of the “Birth right” and can’t continue their Heritage and Ethnicity due to this LAW. We love and are very proud of our Indian Ethnicity and roots. We would want nothing more than to continue our Heritage in our child. But Indian Government is depriving us from being proud of Indian and to continue our heritage in our unborn child by depriving us letting do surrogacy in India. We feel that this LAW needs SERIOUS REVISION

This ban will not only deprive so many couples from starting a family and experience the joy of having a child but will prevent so many poverty stricken people of India to help themselves and their families for a better life and future. If not in India people will go somewhere else.

I am very very lucky that I brought my twins back just before the ban. We are so happy to have our twins and they are so adorable. When we first met our surrogate mother, no offense, though she is young, she is very skinny and seems lack of nutrition. Later we saw her, she is a completely different person looking glorious, healthy, clean with new dress, new cell phone, new luggage. She looks exactly like a young woman compatible with her age. To show our gratitude, we gave her another extra 1500 USD and she is so happy that she can send her children to school. Obviously, we both change each others life completely. Our life will never be the same. I know it is a deal, a trade, but it's a good deal, with mutual advantage. We help, and save each others life. It is very obviously that she is not being exploited. I still remember the last time I saw her, when she is leaving to her home i other place, she stopped at the door and turned to us, I bowed to her (Asian tradition) and she nodded and smile. It is probably the best, sepcial and important issue in my life. And when we stayed in India, we spent a lot of money in housing, eating, travelling...etc. If properly regulated, it is really a wonder thing and India will be a wondering place many couples would like to visit, So, please regulate , don't ban completely. Many surrogate mothers will also lose their opportunity to change thier life. I really believe their government is in no way to help them.

If there are a minority of clinics exploiting then deal with them individually, rather than a blanket ban. Why still legal for indian citizens and not OCI? Just does not seem to be well thought out.

My wife and I have been blessed with a beautiful girl thanks to the work of our Dr in Delhi and the wonderful surrogate mother. We met with our surrogate mother several times and made sure she was adequately provided for: before, during and after. She has been god sent to us. She has given us the biggest gift that anyone could ever imagine. It is very interesting to say that foreigners are exploiting Indians YET surrogacy for Indians is OK and NOT BANNED. Hence the government is saying that it is OK for Indian citizens to exploit other Indians and NOT foreigners from doing so. This in itself is the logic that can be deduced from their decision. On the other hand they do not look at the assistance our surrogate mother has got and she can now provide for her family. Her husband had passed away and she has 4 young children of her own. IS THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT PROVIDING ANYTHING TO HER AND HER FAMILY? HAVE THEY COME FORTH TO SUPPORT HER IN ANY WAY? The answer is an emphatic NO!! Have the people who have lodged and petitioned for this ban come forward to assist her and her family and provide for them. Again an emphatic NO! So is this another example of the unfortunate, downtrodden and forgotten people of India who want to have basics such as a roof over their head, food to eat, provide for their children and families been subjected to further controls by those rich people sitting in their bungalows with their servants who petition against surrogacy and say that foreigners are exploiting vulnerable women in India. Maybe they should concentrate on weeding out the unscrupulous clinics who do actually exploit the beautiful surrogate mothers and ban them rather than put a blanket ban on foreigners being able to conduct surrogacy. Meanwhile those unscrupulous clinics still operate and exploit for local Indian citizens and that is OK. Look to the real issues Government of India rather than a gloss over, band-aid type situation. Surrogacy is not exploitat
