The Planning Commission denied the rezoning application for the 29 Belle Townhomes today. We have submitted the verified list of signatories to the City Clerk to ensure this formal opposition remains in the public record. We will continue to monitor the site for any future development filings.

Sign this petition to stop the development of the 29 Belle Townhomes Project at 2900 Belleview, KCMO 64108. There has been a plan to re-zone this residential area of 2900 Belleview block from 2.6 and R-6 to UR URban Redevelopment to build multi-family units. WE DO NOT WANT THIS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD! These townhomes will increase traffic in an already congested area of the city. It will increase crime and is not part of the landscape of the existing neighborhood of single family homes. The safety issue for the kids that attend school within walking distance will increase with three existing large businesses in the area as well as having only a one-way exit from the neighborhood at 29th & SW Trafficway.
An on-line meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 9am. We would like to present these signatures to the planning commission to let our voices be heard. You can email to attend the online meeting at [email protected]. You must register to attend the meeting by 12pm on March 1, 2021.

My husband and I grew up on the Westside, have family in the 2900 block of Belleview. The neighborhood is family oriented and neighbor friendly. Those living in these townhomes will be renters that come and go with no sense of pride for the neighborhood community they live in.
I grew up on the Westside on 26th and Madison. I have worked in the Westside community for 24 years. The Westside neighborhood has seen enough gentrification and especially the Sacred Heart neighborhood. Enough is enough!
there is no room on bellvoew for us that live there now we have a hard time parking i front of own houses as it is
I grew up in this neighborhood and it is disturbing to see businesses and other developments such as this taking over the historic westside. This neighborhood does not deserve any more congestion of vehicles or overcrowding of people than has already been forced upon them. This development will contribute to the fall of our community in the Westside Kansas City.
No we want familys to stay there. Not condos and townhomes. If you need to redevelop this area you can do better than more Townhomes.

I’m a life long resident of the WESTSIDE community and I’m very concerned about these developers coming into our community and raising our property taxes. We are in a fixed income and cannot afford to get our taxes increased.
