The City Manager said the Bowie budget is going to impacted by Covid-19 in way not fully understood at this point. To proceed blindly with a multi-million complex at this time is unwise. This should have posed as a bond funding question in the last city election.

It’s financially irresponsible to build a $28 million Ice Arena.

Please do not add more traffic to this area. I realize you may not live on this side but this is not a good idea. We know there will also be development across the street. Too much.

We need a new high school to meet the increase in population being created by the new homes, etc., in addition to surrounding infrastructure to support the traffic currently in Bowie. A multi-use sportsplex should be considered before an ice arena!

A $28 million dollar ice arena in Bowie isn’t a very beneficial use of tax payer money, you should see how many in Bowie use versus how many outside use

We need a high school not an ice rink. We are touted as a basketball hotbed why not build a big facility for that which could also be mixed use year round?

We don’t need a new ice arena. If folks from Davidsonville and Glen Burnie want one let them have their own residents build one! As a Bowie resident why don’t you build more schools in our city. Classrooms are overcrowded.

It is ridiculous to build an ice arena in this area and consider turning Freeway airport into a possible 600+ new housing community too. Church Rd can’t handle all this traffic. Adding all this pollution and traffic to this area will not recuperate the cost, and it will overcrowd the surrounding communities that exist in these areas off Church Rd. How many accidents and deaths have to happen on Church Rd before the government realize this is not what the surrounding communities want? Bowie is talking about raising taxes, so $28M for something most Bowie residents don’t need/want makes no sense. The politicians need to start listening to the residents or face being ousted.

I am not in support of an Ice skating ring in the assigned area. It is crazy to put one in this spot. Spend 10million and renovate the old one in Allen Pond. Spend the other 18million on something everyone can use.
Thank you,
