Colorado Section 8 is funded by the federal government. Property managers and landlords discriminate against the low income. We are asking that property managers and landlords have to accept Section 8 just as they do money from a working class citizen. There is a reasons why people cannot work some have disabled family members some are disabled themselves and some are single parents there is no reason for people to discriminate the way the rent is paid. People are ending up homeless because they are turned away after asking about section 8 vouchers. Voucher holders only have 60 days to find suitable housing. We are asking for a change to be made.

My daughter who has a child with a disability shouldn't have to worry about where she will be living next.

Discrimination in any form is wrong but in Colorado there needs to be a bipartisan oversight committee keeping housing safe and affordable for all fiancial situations

The issue is not about discrimination by landlords to rent to section 8 tenants. We have many rental properties and have not had one good experience renting to section 8 holders. These tenants are careless and live like animals! Every single rental we have is completely trashed --not one single section 8 tenant has cleaned the unit at the end of the lease. They leave things for the landlord to dispose of: couches, mattresses, old food, clothing, etc... They just move along their merry way without a care in the world while someone else, that someone else being a landlord that gave them the benefit of the doubt and a chance they asked for by renting to them, has to clean their disgusting mess! When they apply for the unit, they are so nice and tell the landlord they just need a chance, they will treat the home as their own, blah-blah-blah! Then, they move in, "emotional support" animals appear and they leave dog crap everywhere! If you are going trick the landlord into having a pet, at least be respectful enough to clean up after it! And by the way, if you cannot afford rent, how in the 'ell can you afford to properly take care of a pet? Section 8 tenants should be required to go to a money budgeting class and how to be responsible tenant class before having the privilege of receiving the voucher. Until then, I absolutely WIll NEVER RENT TO SECTION 8 TENANTS! (I keep hearing a few bad tenants ruin it for the rest, however I have to date, rented to 14 section 8 tenants and not one single one has completed the lease and left the unit the way it was found. Why should they? They know they will get a hand out from the government--they have no accountability to act like adults. Sorry, not sorry, will never happen! My rental properties are maintained and are beautiful homes and I will only rent to adults who have respect for someone else's property.) Good day!

Considering section 8 income guidelines and housing market nowvand discrimination that entailed in being on section 8 alone the timeframe isn't adequate
