I am currently drafting a formal letter to the Department of Public Safety to challenge the legality of the 2015 fee schedule. Our next move involves securing counsel to evaluate the state authority regarding private business income regulation.

They need to understand that most of these vehicles are never claimed. With the new regulatoions for car crushing, it doesn't even cover the cost of doing the call.
It is understood that there are some in the industry that take advantage of those involved wrecks and some regulations are necessary, yet the mathematics of the new regulations is not even sufficient for many to stay in business, and will cause huge losses for those who can survive the new regulations.

If we can't make a profit we can't tow. I can assure you if the counties take over the towing they will be charging alot more! That may be what they are working towards!

How can you set the rates of towers without having ideal of what their cost are? If the state is going to set rates it really needs to work with towers so that the rates are fair to all parties involved..

I'm off Rotation after 35 years serving the motoring public. I'll just rely on request work and loyal customers. There's no way anyone who's never bought a wrecker or paid wrecker insurance can fairly set a tow rate
