PETITION BACKGROUND

As a resident of the Orchards at Greentree Homeowners Association or surrounding communities next to the Harvest Road property, I have the following concerns with the proposed sale of the Harvest Road property by the School Board.

The development of this property will change the traffic patterns in our community and have a negative impact on the safety of our children.

It is home to various species of animals including deer, fox, rabbits, snapper turtles, and others. It provides our families with the therapeutic comfort of having a natural, undeveloped piece of land close by.

Burlington County and Evesham Township have purchased thousands of acres to be protected under the Green Acres program. This property is 19 acres. We respectfully request that the School Board and Evesham Township find a way to protect these 19 acres under the Green Acresprogram or another way if possible.

It is currently zoned for institutional use. It is not zoned for commercial or residential use. It should remain that way.

I am a resident of Evesham Township.

Currently the Board of Education property is an open field with a pond and high tension wires. There is a wildlife population consisting of deer, fox, rabbits, snapper turtles and feral cats that call this property home.

The proceeds that the Board of Education intends to receive to offset their budget concerns would only offer a temporary fix to the problem, while the development of that land would create a long term negative impact on the residents in The Orchards at Greentree, as well as the surrounding communities.

The property is zoned as Institutional and not zoned for commercial or residential use - and should remain that way.

I object to the sale of the 19 acre parcel of land located at the end of Harvest Road.
