Even though I no longer live in Bartlesville, I am deeply ashamed of the articles written by Everett Piper.

It is time to stop the publication of Piper articles! Find a new slant on news in the Washington County area!

This kind of rhetoric only encourages hate and division. It has no place in a public forum when we've seen a substantial increase in hate crime, murders in the last two years. Stop giving him an airing.

I do not subscribe to this paper because of its very slanted and hateful articles from this person and others. If you want to increase readership, try putting balanced articles or maybe just report the news without the political slant you put in everything!!!

We cancelled our subscription to the paper because of articles and columns such as this. Please stop promoting divisive opinions in the name of God and religion.

I’m tired of one opinion only. That is why I am signing this!

Dr.. Piper is so opinionated and arrogant about his beliefs. His religious beliefs do not belong in a paper that should serve all citizens.

I gave up my subscription a long time ago because of piper's hateful and divisive articles. That you give him a platform to spew his hatred in our only true local outlet for opinion sickens me. This paper should be seeking to bring our community together, not to drive a wedge between us. Shame on examiner enterprise.

Free speech is a right...yes. But Piper is a columnist in a subscription based publication...We're tired of his opinion. I'd take the paper if not for his regular feature column. He can always write letters to the editor like anyone else. Nobody is trying to silence him, just remove his paid platform for spewing it.

I fully support different views and free speech yet I find Dr. Pipers hateful rhetoric harmful to this community.

Can the E-E not find a more intelligent and less divisive op-ed writer than that know-nothing reactionary from Oklahoma Weslayan? Giving a platform to him sows divisiveness and polarization In our community, at a time when we should be promoting tolerance in the public discourse on complex issues we face as a society. Your readers yearn to find common ground with one another. And if you believe that discord sells papers, you are most wrong. I've opted not to subscribe, until a reasonable and thoughtful op-ed writer replaces this so-called "educator" who panders to the uneducated, promoting a poisonous mix of intolerance and small-minded, shortsighted rage.

Piper is a liar, hypocrite and one of the least Christian people I have ever encountered claiming to be so. Let's rid our nice local paper of his clickbate garbage - it's doing no one any good.

It's horrible that this person gets a voice with so much hatred and bigotry. Please don't publish any more of his words.

The EE's decision to amplify Piper's hateful speech an ugly reflection on Bartlesville.

After subscribing for 35 years, I, too, want to cancel my subscription. I have written to the editor about my frustration at seeing Piper's column. The EE pulled the offensive Off the Cuff in response to readers. Piper's column is hateful. I have heard the EE keeps it to stimulate conversations. Instead it simulates anger, frustration, and disbelief. We have enough daily rancor in the media. Please do your part to reduce the anger and bitterness stirred by this hateful column.
