I'm signing this to honor Steven Woods request...but free speech is a right however repugnant. The E-E editorial staff & publisher should print their own op-ed refuting those articles. Otherwise they show their silent support of him. Readers with opposite views should flood the E-E with their own letters and demand equal space per writer!

I cancelled my subscription to this newspaper because of Dr. Piper. I would consider renewing it if you no longer print his hate-filled articles.

Piper’s implication that a same-sex, loving relationship is somehow comparable to the horrendous crime of incest shows how ignorant and full of hate he is. The fact that the paper continues to give him an outlet to spread this hate is sickening.

Please stop. There is already enough judgement and hate in our country. I dont threaten nor do I stsrt boycotts but seeing his articles repeatedly published certainly makes me less interested in this newspaper.

I find his opinions very offensive, hateful and divisive to our community. As such, his claims of religiosity are far from mainstream Christian religion.

Kelley Becker, David Bailey and I have met with the Editotial Board of the EE several times over several months about this issue. I hope this petition will help them see the depth of concen in the community and how Piper’s columns are negatively affecting the community—and their subscription base.
