Destruction of such a place would be sheer vandalism. What are people thinking of at all?

This is awful. I come here every year and absolutely love this precious area. No one has the right to take it away from the people of Donegal, not at all. I'm very disappointed to hear about this especially for the locals- this cannot happen, and right at their doorstep too!

Can't believe that some face who hasn't a clue where the fantastic strand is can ride rough shod over the locals

This proposal would result in a desecration of a landscape which is enjoyed and used by many and which attracts visitors to the locality bringing widespread economic benefit

Generations of my family have lived in Belcruit including my parents. My fondest memories are playing in the sands and jumping off the bridge in Cruit Island. My family have done the same and I'd like to think the next generation will too. Please don't ruin this beautiful strand. There must be more strands less populated and scenic.

I visit Donegal regularly and am appalled at the prospect of this lovely area having an oyster farm sited on it.

How could any Minister give a green light to this plan? Belcruit and Cruit Island are two areas of outstanding natural beauty and this blight on our shore will definitely not be tolerated !!

What a beautiful place. What is wrong with peoples heads who want to destroy it . Money isn't everything. This application has to be scrapped

This proposed development will cause pollution and will destroy the natural environment around Cruit. There are more important things in life than money.

This development will destroy a beautiful local amenity used by locals and toursists alike, all year round.
I expect this oyster farm will also adversely impact various types of rare wildlife which thrive in the environmental conditions present at Cruit Island.
Please don`t mess up Cruit.
