Stop Current Proposal for 650 Unit Crystal Flats Apartment Complex next to Memorial Park

The proposed Crystal Flats-style multi-family housing complex is out of place on John Deshields BL. Visualize the 8W building at 8th and Walton. This is a 6-story structure. Now imagine several of them but 10 feet higher across from Orchards Park. The additional 1,000 cars the multi-housing complex will substantially increase traffic on J, Tiger, MLK, and Central. Bentonville is a desired place to live because it has parks, museums, and green space set aside for residents. Its multi-housing and commercial areas are apart from these. I understand city planners and businesses want affordable housing for incoming staff, but there are many areas of town to the south and west that will fulfill this need and preserve the one area of our town that still has a small-town feel. If we lose this 'feel' Bentonville becomes another charmless corporate hub.

Please stop the urbanization of Bentonville!

This complex does not fit the community. There are plenty of apartments coming on line in the near future on I Street and Airport Rd. There is plenty of land towards the new high school. Seems like that is where the additional growth should occur. Let's not ruin the gem of Bentonville w/ high density housing.

Absolutely ridiculous to place apartments in this spot! Where will our children play after this? Will the town pay for any burials due to the ignorance of some drivers if a child or adult gets hit, while on the sidewalk, or crossing in the designated crosswalks?! This is the ONLY spot in Bentonville that children can actually ride their bikes up and down the sidewalks without us being terrified, it's a BEAUTIFUL spot, why ruin it with apartments? Even celebrities love coming here because of this little area! I also work at Legacy, our elderly LOVE going outside and enjoying the view, the quiet, and watching children and adults play and ride bikes. our Alzheimer's/Dementia residents also love it, and what happens if they somehow get out and wonder into the traffic? They already don't sleep at night and when they do it's a major win to us caregivers and their family members, having the extra cars and noises of people slamming doors, playing music, fighting, etc etc will only cause more problems! I can go on and on as to why this is ridiculous, there are other spots to put these apartments!

I understand the need for more affordable housing options in N. Bentonville, however, the infrastructure adjacent to the proposed project is insufficient. This project will just create more issues than it solves.

Save our parks and green space! No Crandall Flats!!!

Do we need anymore rental spaces in NWA? There's plenty of vacant spaces already (commercial and residential). With Walmart laying off more and more, why do we need more expensive spaces that will only sit empty?

I do t think we need something this large coming into the park area. It would be nice to have the space used for something productive, but not for 600+ living units.

I strongly object to the apartments based on the additional loads to current infrastructure. This is counter productive to the current environment our city planners have worked so hard to achieve. With the art museum so close to this proposed location, it would be in poor taste.

I think we need to really preserve the nature in downtown Bentonville. The last thing we need is more buildings. We need more parks and recreations.

We do not have the infrastructure to support this kind of housing in this area. Buildings this large would ruin the beautiful Crystal Bridges tranquility.

Great concept, totally wrong loction, and the infrastructure cannot even handle what is here now, let alone the population increase from a mass housing addition.
