Ref: Continued Police Harassment at Polysonic Junction, Apapa GRA
Good day Sir,
We are filing this petition as a complaint against the daily harassment that we are subjected to by police officers from various departments as well as "pseudo" policemen (men wearing "MOPOL" tshirts and jeans - WITHOUT any formal identification).
While we understand the need for a police presence at that very busy junction, the officers there have turned the exercise into a "fleecing" free for all, with threats and abuse of all kinds being rained upon us, the residents of Apapa GRA, and we'll be all els who pass through that junction.
The same "security exercise" has become a major cause of traffic hold up into and out of our GRA.
We therefore are signing this petition to kindly request that in your responsible role in the highest ranking police officer in our zone, you investigate the matte - and bring those "misbehaving " officers to order.
We have a goal of collecting the leeat least 1,000 signatories on this petition to show you how seriousness with which to take this matter.

This is a daily occurrence for the residents of apapa as we exit daily on our way to work. I know most of them by face yet they stop us incessantly on a bend just in front of a traffic light. That action itself is obstruction of traffic. Some are not dresses properly, wear slippers and brandish their guns rather carelessly. Okadas and Danfo drivers who regularly break all traffic rules are not stopped!! But residents are. Please look into this harassment!

Policeman at polysonic mall told me today he'll deal with me 1 day and went on to poke my arm with his smelling finget
Same story every day, stop, check papers, etc etc. By the same officers, all the time! One would think they would recognize the same car and passengers after stopping it 3 times!
They are always in your face. Begging most of the time drunk and taking advantage of poor pal that don't know there rights

We have been detained on several occasions. My driver harassed. Now we avoid them by diverting to Maybin or the Airways roundabout. A very major hassle.
