As a current homeowner in this are, I disapprove of of this project and of the idea to re-zone it. I disapprove of a main thoroughfare connection between Shipley Road and Route 202. This is a terrible idea for or community.

If we can get the Brandywine conservancy involved we may have a chance. They just helped save other land in DE County. Hopefully they can help save bcc. from being built on.

We have lived in this area, in the existing neighborhoods of N Shipley Road and Brandywine Country Club, for nearly 25 years. The last 2 years have seen a tremendous negative impact to our lives and home as a result of overdevelopment in this location. Traffic on Shipley is terrible..we cannot get in nor out of our Development many days because of the increased volume of cars already on the road and those who drivers that do not follow the 35mph speedlimit. No one slows down for the flashing school lights at Springer Elementary School and there is never a cop there to see the problem each morning as our kids go to school. To re-zone the area for your stupid project, to create a direct link to 202 traffic and mayhem, would be a disaster and a disgrace for our neighborhoods. You are being disrespectful of the people already living here l, those of us who do not want further development in this already congested location. I will be writing my Senator about this, regarding the overwhelming disapproval from current residents.

Looking at the number of units being proposes with the re-zoning of the former Brandywine Country Club we arrive at 563 units. Conservative math would say the there will most likely be two drivers per unit for a total of 1,126 new vehicles using north Wilmington roads. Again, being conservative lets say that half of the residents of the newly proposed units decide to use Shipley Road and we are at 563 additional cars on the road, not to mention those folks who decide to make Shipley Road the 202 by pass, especially during the holiday season. The county should consider the cost of road wear and tear, the cost of additional traffic lights, the cost of road expansion and the cost of the quality of life in north Wilmington before green lighting the re-zoning of the former Brandywine Country Club.

Development is ok in that location, but it must be less dense and consist of single family homes. Apartments and townhouses would further congest traffic in what is already a heavily populated area.

NO TO REZONING!!! Apparently the Council has no clue on how much traffic is already on Shipley Road. A cut through road from Concord Pike is only going to make Shipley Road feel like you are driving on a major highway. I stand on Shipley Road most mornings to see my granddaughter catch her school bus. The State of Delaware could make bundles of extra money by the speeding and aggressive driving that is already on Shipley Road. Please don't make our suburban road the Concord Pike Bypass.
Why not turn the BCC into a park like in Glasgow? What a novel idea to have green space and a park like setting for families to gather and have fun.
If I wanted to live in the city, we would have moved there.

No new development on this parcel of land. Keep open as park space or turn into sporting fields.

It should be open space. North Wilmington has enough housing! Roads are clogged with traffic.

I am extremely against the number of apartments being jammed in this neighborhood. I think this will horrible for traffic and housing prices. I doubt the builder lives around here.

We would prefer single family homes or town homes. Families investing in homes are more likely to invest and care about the community itself!
Thank you

We are against rezoning of this magnitude and think that if development must occur, then the current Suburban zoning should be upheld to protect the residential character of existing neighborhoods. The proposed ST zoning in this infill area is too dense, nonresidential is out of character, and infrastructure will be overloaded. ST in this location will negatively impact Shipley Road, the primary corridor it will affect.

I believe this development would make flooding along Shellpot creek much worse. I'm strongly opposed to this project.
We do not want this!!!
