i honestly cant believe how many people feel the same way about our neighborhood birds. this momentum is wild and i know the city council is going to have to pay attention now.

This is a useless procedure, creates an unnecessary noise violation with the extraordinary loud booms in the hours off 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. that are often directly outside my bedroom and frightens my dog into hyperventilating and shivering. There are many other effective methods to shoo these pesky birds away, even a dog running alongside the lagoons is effective and silent.

Killing birds while they stop to rest during their migration is cruel. They are peaceful and a joy to behold.

These migratory birds were here first. Anyone building a golf course with man made lakes should expect wild life to show up. All of us must learn to coexist with these beautiful animals.

Inhumane people who value sentient beings less than a golf course don't deserve to live in nice communities such as Rancho Mirage. Still going on in the Desert? We haven't come very far.

Being awakened all year by weekly gunshots for a 1/2 hour and watching an armed guard retrieve bloody bird carcasses is more than traumatic! It is cruel, sickening and frightening. Many of our guests have said they would never live in Rancho Mirage because of this.

When I still lived in Rancho Mirage, I wrote to one of the news programs that was always asking for leads for issues of concern that their team could look into. Crickets. They just didn't see it as concerning, whereas I was mortified each time I heard guns popping in the nearby golf course. I knew full well what they were doing, and it upset me to no end. I agree with you. There are golf courses that employ companies that bring dogs to the course, not to kill the coots but to drive them away. That's the most humane answer to this "problem." Sickens me that it's still going on in the desert. Please do something to stop this cruel treatment of birds simply trying to live in the shrinking habitat we've left for them.

Please pass this ordinance. These are beautiful creatures that do not deserve this.
