Dear Baltimore City Liquor License Board: As residents of the Federal Hill/South Baltimore neighborhood, we are writing to oppose the recent petition of Ms. Betsy Homer, et. al. In our opinion, this reflects an unfortunate pattern of obstructionist tactics by some residents of Federal Hill. In recent years, Federal Hill has seen the filing of a frivolous lawsuit against a local magic bar, vehement opposition to angle parking, and even objections to solar panels for the Maryland Science Center. Protesting the renewal of liquor licenses for 17 locals bars and restaurants in this manner is not an appropriate tactic in our view. Federal Hill has a long and vital history as a center of nightlife, street festivals and entertainment. Violations by individual wrongdoers should be addressed instead through cooperative planning and stepped-up enforcement by the police department. Federal Hill has more important problems on which to focus. Thank you. [NOTE: Please remember to put your first and last name, andaddress or street block in the comment section. Thanks.].

I'm very lucky to have a career that allows me to travel. I have the opportunity to relocate and live in any major city. Basically I can live wherever I want. I choose to live in federal hill, because of the bars. I think that anyone living in the city that signs a petition to close 17 rrestaurants/bars has some serious issues and should relocate to the burbs.

I'm as tired of being woken up at 2:15 am after the bars let out on Friday and Saturday nights by the idiots who decide to have shouting matches as are most other people living on South Charles St, but this is not the answer.

If you have an issue with Federal Hill Irish Stroll take it up with Lindy Promo for overselling tickets and for not following their requirements for the street closures and such. Federal Hill is a community focused around its social district. It is becoming more and more popular, which raises the desirability of the neighborhood and your rent/home value. 17 vacant buildings don't.

Anybody that is against any liquor license never lived there circa 1996, when redevelopment took place. See what happens to your propery values when you start driving these businesses out.

Federal Hill is a great place for fun and to get together. individual situations are not the fault of the bar owners!

The restaurants and bars are the most appealing part of Federal Hill. As a home owner, I strongly believe the value our homes in the area is only enhanced by their presence in the community. I fully support all of their efforts to continue to grow and revitalize our area.
