Honestly suddenly putting loud music in what used to be a quiet study area is SO rude and ignorant... Ok so what if the area was supposed to me a social space? The students obviously didnt see it fit for that. So now all the students who originally studied there, have to move and find somewhere new... The school is not thinking of those who cannot study with background music/noise. It's ridiculous. I am sure that there wasnt a poll taken before this change happened because 99 percent of ppl would have voted against it...

Please bring back the silence. People can put in their headphones if they want to listen to music. However, losing that freedom with this forced background noise completely ruins the point of the great hall.

Thanks God this is happening. I am a resident of the Global neighborhood hunting for other places to study because of that noise they introduce into the Great Hall. I understand that Great Hall was not intended to be a quiet place for studying but we, the students, use for that purpose. I think academic is prioritized over everything else at Elon. PLEASE, STOP THIS MUSIC IN THE GREAT HALL.
