The Council confirmed today that they are reverting the waste collection schedule to restore service reliability. We will monitor the next several weeks of pickup transitions to ensure the operational stability promised is maintained.

Cardiff taxpayers expect their bins to be collected as far as possible on the correct day. Since the 4 day week change, there have been many missed collections which is causing problems for many residents. We call upon the Council to do whatever it takes in the interim to get Cardiff’s Waste Collections back on track

I have officially filed a formal request for a meeting with the Waste Management Department to address the persistent collection delays. My focus remains on obtaining a concrete timeline for when residents can expect these service standards to return to normal.

‘Report a missed collection’ is useless. Said they’d be back to pick up then a week later, an email to say they wouldn’t in fact be back to empty my missed bin. What on earth are we paying for? Dreadful service.

Once again waste collections are delayed. The service provided is abysmal. No doubt if I delayed my Council Tax payment, staff would be found to chase payment. How about a refund for services not provided.

If the collections can’t cope in a 5 day service, how are they expected to cope in 4 days. And middle of the night collections are not fair on frontline workers with noise disturbance.

Green bin collection due on 24th March. Not collected until 29th in spite of daily updates saying collection would take place. Because of the length of time since last collection my bin was incredibly heavy. Could not move it back up the drive, collected or not.

Clearly the new system is not working with staff shortages. It does ask the question, ehy did they implement the changes knowing they are understaffed. Surely it would be better to wait until the workforce is more or less back at full capacity.
