Carlsbad: Stop Low Flying, Loud, and Unsafe planes from operating over our Homes and Neighborhoods

A mandatory flight path straight out to sea as the planes throttle up to altitude would significantly reduce the noise levels and impact far fewer homes and businesses. Have noticed more air traffic at lower altitudes, notably high powered private jets pulling U-turns eastward from the airport, over north Carlsbad neighborhoods.

Please stop the plan to convert this small airport into a large regional hub.

I echo the comments of others. The low flying aircraft noise has greatly increased in the last few years interfering with our lifestyle and possibly home values.

I do not live on the CLD flight path but jets & planes fly low when circling waiting to land & fly very low after take off until they get over the ocean Also there are so many flight instructors take their flight students over neighborhoods, teaching them steering maneuvers, even cutting off the engines, which is unnerving not to mention violating safety.

My wife and I are both medical scientists who work from home, and our son is temporarily schooling at home due to COVID. I am accepting in general of recreational aircraft in the community, having bought a home near a small airport I expect it. However, over the last few years it has changed dramatically, with numerous flights every day that are alarmingly low, and are loud enough to disrupt all conversation. If this continues, it will drive homeowners away and change the fabric of the community.

Especially over our poinsettia/Aviara neighborhood the helicopters have increased in numbers dramatically AND in altitude are quite low over our house. Very disruptive. Please stop.

We have obnoxiously loud planes flying directly over our neighborhood on a daily basis lately. This has only gotten worse over time and it is my understanding that they are clearly and blatantly outside of the designated flight path zone.

Please stop the low flying and loud flight patterns - I’ve lived here for over 15 years and this past year has been terrible in comparison.

I've used WebTrak to report low flying noisy aircraft, but I received no response and the problem is worse now than it was at the beginning of 2020.

It is fairly evident that there are many instances each week, at least in the southern boundary of McCllelan-Palomar, that pilots and aircraft are not adhering to FAA rules 91.119, and as residents we need to be reporting these occurrences when possible.

Much of the problem could be solved by simply making the flight paths that mandatory so that the planes go straight out from the airport until over the ocean.

With all of us working from hom, plus children in school from home, these planes cause significant disruption and stress. It is unonscionable that during COVID these low altitude fly over are allowed to continue!!!

There are many more planes flying low over our neighborhoods. The noise is getting louder and unbearable. The guidelines need to be followed and enforced.

Helicopter noise has been terrible and should be required to follow strict flight paths within three miles of the airport!

I get the airport was here first but every day every hour planes fly over our house so low It’s so rude!! Go out over the ocean then turn surprised we haven’t had one fall out of the sky ugh

I have large turbo helicopters flying over my home in Alta Mira 4 at 300 feet. Planes coming over the bluff in at 150 for a thrill. It's ridiculous that residents don't have any rights here.

Your lack of flight path restriction enforcement is negligent at best. Are you waiting for a tragedy to happen? Helicopters and private aviation are the offenders. They are not to be flying over residential communities. Do you job!

I earned my private pilot certificate at a Palomar airport based flight school and rarely heard or saw any interest by other (private) pilots to honor the Voluntary Noise Abatement procedures.

Everyone is noticing an increased frequency of planes flying directly over our neighborhoods rather than following the guidelines of flying out over the ocean before changing direction. If these guidelines were followed the situation would improve!

There has been no communication from the Palomar Airport Advisory Committee since January 2020.
