The Butts is a beautiful area with established trees and wildlife and is an important historical area to our community. Please sign this petition to send a message to the Labour Council - our green spaces are not surplus to requirement or expendable. We do not want our planning merged with Stoke-on-Trent's and Newcastle should not have to sacrifice its green spaces because of the failures of Stoke-on-Trent's council.

Keep our beautifully Butts. This area is not suitable for development due to flooding and the Apedale fault. As a family we enjoy walks up the Butts, particularly in Spring when the bluebells are in full bloom.
there is no need to develop any green field sites when there is so much disused and derelict brown field space in the borough. The council need to use that first. Selling green sites is just easy and a cop out. Shame on the council.
This is vandalism of greenbelt ...the Butts is a wildlife haven and a green lung for newcastle-u-lyme. It hosts a mixed woodland, wildflower nature area and deserves protection for the future. Having looked at the plans of the area proposed I will fight in every way possible to prevent the Butts being sold off.
My family have lived on Naples Drive / Paris Avenue for 43 years and use the Butts for walks every week. It is vital to preserve parts of the area that drew peoplw here in the first place and which help give the Westlands its high asteem within Stoke On Trent.
I cannot belive that the council are selling this plott of land. They spent thousands of pounds planting trees to help block some of the pollution from the M6 polluting Newcastle. It is supposed to be green belt. The area is used by dog walkers, children playing games, people for picnics, walkers, etc.

Leave the green space alone. How would you like it if there were none. There is plenty of Briwn Land in Newcastle that could be developed.

This is where I learned to sledge, recognise the breeds of birds and pick blackberries. It is also where I taught my children the same things. Don't my grandchildren need the same opportunities?
