This is kidnapping. It is criminal regardless of trying to re-name it as something else.

Schools staff should not have such rights over our children. Family support is needed first and foremost!

Absolutely harmful for both child and family - this act should be illegal. A child should be treated with respect as the parents. School should be safe place. This is a Human rights violation.

This is a vital issue, a child has rights and can sometimes react unsuitably but should never be forced into such abusive treatemtn

The parents have a right to know BEFORE the child is removed from school grounds. It is wrong to deny the parents of this, and wrong to put the children through this.

My son's rights to the right care were violated and our parental rights to give him care were violated. BAKER ACT MUST CHANGE!

My autistic 15 year old son was at Manatee Memorial hospital ER and we agreed that he should be in for observation for 24 hours. At no time did anyone mention BAKER ACT or that we could be separated from our son for 72 hours. The receiving facility didn't have a Dr. on staff and he wasn't even seen for over 24 hours. They drew blood from him without doctor's orders. We had to plead to have him released to us, so we could get him the immediate care he needed so badly. BAKER ACT MUST CHANGE!
