STOP Involuntary Examination of Children in Florida!

This is completely unacceptable and goes against all rights of parents for their children

Childhood is not a disease nor, in fact, are the emotions that come with the successes and losses of just living. The Baker Act should be abolished entirely, but especially for children. The tens of thousands of involuntary examinations of children point to the insanity of the system, not the kids.

Stop the insanity of the Psychiatry.

As someone who has worked as a volunteer for the legal guardian ad litem program with both the San Francisco Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association, I have seen instances where a child's rights have been totally violated. This Bakeracting of young children sounds a bit over the top; there is no reason why young children should be treated like adults...! If a child acts out in a classroom and the teacher is not equipped to deal with it, the parent(s) should be called to the school to deal with their unruly child; this should not automatically be handled by the system and be labeled a psychiatric problem for the child. It is a lazy way to deal with a situation; It is also a way to create more problems for the family and long lasting traumatic effects on the psyche of the child. What's the point of trying to solve a problem where no one wins?!

Iam appalled at this I as a 60 yr old woman have been baker acted 3 times and now have learned I was abused and not given my rights under the law we need to fight this ESP for the children of this country

Total government overreach and violation of both parent and child rights. Children are not property of the State or of Big Pharma!

Restore the full rights of parents of their own children in all matters of law so that it is law for a parent or pasrents to be fully informed and asked first for their permission in all matters relating to their children and any services provided by government or private sector enterties!

This is unhuman and ethically wrong on every level! My child is only to be removed from school by their mother or father! The state of Florida has it all wrong this needs to be stopped! The human Right of Florida are not in control of the children of Florida their parents are!

This is a total violation of our human rights! No one should be able to do this without the parents consent. This is insane!

The parents should be called. Thus State of Florida is insane if they think taking a child under the Baker Act is the right thing to do.

Not just for the kids, but every human.

This has to stop. There is absolutely why a Parent cannot be notified if there is an issue at school. This is the scariest and uneducated decision that the Florida Law has applied here. This is very violent traumatizing. I will definitely tell all Parents.

Schools should not be allowed to do this. In some cases the child may just be misunderstood or currently going through therapy where they are urged to express themselves and the school staff and officers over-step their authority. Parents should have the final say on if the child is Baker Acted or not.

I am shocked. Targeting children now that that grownups stood up for themselves.

Our kids are to be educated and not removed from their family because of some unusual idea. It is time to protect our children as they are the future of this nation! This needs to Stop now!

My boyfriend was baker acted as a juvenile and has since developed PTSD from being institutionalized

My son was legally abducted from school with the school adminstrators assiantance because of the baker act.

This is nothing short of evil to break up families in this way and interfere with the rights of parents to protect their own children.
