My son was recently under baker act, but he got arrested at home. Is that legal?

This is barbaric beyond belief. STOP this now!

This is criminal extortion solely for the purpose of pushing their oppressive drugs for profit.

This has gone too far.

Our son was Baker act, we are from out of the country we didn't understand. We are a loving family perfectly capable of taking care of him. If the option was given to us we would have taken him to the hospital ourselves to make sure we were included in the decisions. We have been excluded from the process and treated like we are not good parents. Our son has been put on medication with no more explanation then well he's depressed. This is totally unacceptable!!!!

This is not only inhumane but gives parental rights no power when others have the right to decide on examining and commiting children based on poor evaluation and judgment.

There have been to many people had their rights taken away and had no voice or help, felons have more rights and the right to an attorney. I urge people to vote and give back power to those whose lives have been destroyed by this law.

They took my daughter out of my house where she was just lying down watching TV ,she had called some hotline that was supposed to be privacy protected instead they went to her friends house and threatened him that if he didn't give them her name he could go to jail. MyWife ,Daughter and myself had just spoken and decided that we were going to go to get some counseling to help my daughter with her problems with school work and other social interests. My daughter is afraid of blood there are no guns here and prescriptions are locked up just because I never want anyone stealing any of my medications which we have read in the news papers. There was absolutely no way or time to hurt herself as I even check on my daughter after she falls asleep as she has a small breathing problem. So I make sure she is sleeping and not on the stupid computer and to pull her blankets up

I can't believe this is even an issue. Parents always have ultimate say over their child(ren).

Unfair, traumatic, and stressful situation to be in considering this has happened 3 times to me. I want it to an end now.

My daughter was Baker Act and she did not met the criteria and ER physician backer acted her< they never let me see my daughter or obtain any information, they violated her rights ann mines as a parent, Where Is IOM in this we are here to care and deliver patient safe centered care for the patient. Where is the association of patient safety and quality. I know my rights and my daughter I am her advocate, Seems that the healthcare providers are not educated about the criteria of baker acting an individual, its all about $. My daughter slept on a baby mat on the floor in a cafeteria with 17+ people the night she got to this so call institution to take care of her. She was surrounded by othesr who where aggressive and screaming in one same cafeteria room. that smelled and bathrooms where filthy. This act of cruelty has caused anguish and pain not only to her but to the entire family. This must be stopped.
