As a young person myself young people need all the help we can get. This program also helps employers as it means they can recruit more experienced employees. Its beneficial for all.
There are 6 million young people between the ages of 18 and 24 who are doing nothing. Let's train them, inspire them, and get them on the way to their productive future. Job Corps has the greatest success with this age group. Fund the experts...fund Job Corps!
Why anyone would want to cut funds to a program that offers young people a first chance for change is beyond me. If the politicians would take the time to look at the beauty of this program they would never think about cutting funds. I could think of a million other thugs they could cut like their salaries and benefits for starters
As a former vocational instructor I have continued contact with graduates from my program. There are so many success stories. This program needs an increase in funding not a cut.
My brother went through this program and it literally saved his life. He was heading for trouble and they gave him a trade and a real career. Dont take this away from kids who need a shot.
The cuts to these kind of programs need to stop

Job Corps changed my life for the better. I miss all my friends that became family.
