Once again, the PA State Legislature and now Gov. Corbett are
threatening to cut Temple's funding. This drastic mistake could result
in Temple losing 20-30% of its current funding and require the school
not only to cut vital student services but to RAISE YOUR TUITION! As
students we represent the very future they claim to want to protect. We
are the future teachers, lawyers, social workers, doctors, nurses,
politicians, actors, etc. and they want to DENY US AN EDUCATION! Temple
is the destination for so many students because of its affordability,
and what would we do if that changed?! So many of our friends--and maybe
even YOU--could NOT afford to attend anymore. I know you may think,
“What can MY ONE VOICE DO?” You may have been told that petitions and
marches don't matter, that no one will care. Well, maybe one voice isn't
enough, but if we work together, we will be a loud chorus screaming
loud and clear that WE ARE TEMPLE OWLS, FIRED UP about KEEPING OUR
FUNDING! Tell Gov. Corbett if he wants another term in office and if he
truly cares about this state, then he will make cuts in other areas of
the budget, but not where it counts the most. Tell him and the
legislature to STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH OUR FUNDING AND OUR LIVES!!
Seeing 250 names on this list proves that Temple students are not going to sit quietly while they threaten our tuition. This momentum shows the administration that we actually pay attention to what they do with our futures.

Corbett needs to stop acting like he cares about PA students while doing this. Priorities are all wrong.

Education should be a priority not the first thing you cut. Shameful.

Tuition is already way too high for most families. Leave the funding alone and find somewhere else to cut from.
