The library board finally caved to the pressure and pulled the plug on these inappropriate events. Mary Beth Revels and her staff clearly realized they could no longer force this filth on our kids while hiding behind public funding. We stopped this nonsense, but stay alert because we have to …

Public Libraries have become a breeding ground for "Drag Queen Story Time" all over the Country. This small percentage of the population has found a legal loophole to ensure they push their alternative lifestyles on our communities.

Drag Queens, used to be something adults saw in a comedy club or late night HBO specials. Do you want your children exposed to this?

From a leader who organizes these events: "we believe the early exposure to people who are different actually helps our children be more kind, confident and tolerant individuals."

This is a blatant attempt to push a sexual and pro-pedophelic agenda, using a public library and therefore public funds as the platform.

Please sign and tell the St. Joseph Public Library to STOP ALLOWING THESE EVENTS TO UNNECESSARILY EXPOSE CHILDREN TO SEXUALIZED CONTENT.

LIBRARY DIRECTOR: Mary Beth Revels 816/232-4038 says the "library is for everyone" AND justified PAYING THIS PERFORMER because he "has children" of his own.

ST. JOSEPH PUBLIC LIBRARY
Meeting of the Board of Trustees
August 13, 2019, 5:00 p.m., Downtown Library

Google "Vivian Versace" the poorly chosen stage name this performer has selected and 100% porn comes back in the results. This name is all over library promotional materials. Children will NOT know to add "drag queen" to their search requests to FIND the actual performer himself.

We are grinding toward that 1,000 signature mark and Mary Beth Revels needs to see exactly how many people are disgusted by her choices. Blast this link to your entire contacts list right now so we can force them to face the reality of our outrage.

I have no problem with gay couples. However, I do not believe that young children should be exposed to this confusing situation at such an impressionable age. Drag Queens should not be role models for 5 year olds!!!

I believe that an activity that began as a sexual performance is inappropriate to expose children to. It has nothing to do with their personal sexual orientation. We wouldn’t have “reading time with prostitutes.” gay or straight, this shouldn’t be a children’s activity.

Please don’t allow a drag queen to have story time at our public library. Do you realize that Vivian Versace is a hard core porn actress. Do you really want to be the person accountable for children going to google searching “her” name and opening the door for addiction? Please reconsider.

The Library Storytime should be about great children’s picture books not about promoting any PAC’s agenda. I also see this as grooming children and making them vulnerable. I strongly protest this and will no longer use this Library if you proceed and will discourage others from using it either.

Developmentally, children should be protected during their latency years. This will divide the community, and would precipitate protests. Our children deserve better, namely a childhood that is not filled with the political debates that the adults have not yet resolved. This is a hard no!

I am against this totally and I know if I don’t like it I don’t have to participate is what the tolerate everything people say. Ok that’s cool-but then I don’t want to support it with my tax dollars. So maybe I’ll deduct the library tax portion from my taxes and pay in protest! How about that??

I am totally opposed to this flagrant attack on children.
