The government has finally listened and cut the support for Sisi. Seeing this change happen feels surreal after so much pain, but we must stay alert to ensure these measures remain permanent.

Na een decennialang totalitair regime van Moubarak in Egypte, was er op 25 januari 2011 eindelijk de revolutie. Dictator Moubarak trad af.
In 2013 werd op democratische wijze president prof. dr. Morsy gekozen. Eindelijk heerste in Egypte democratie, persvrijheid, vrijheid van meningsuiting en lichte economische groei.
Maar dat duurde niet lang! Na een jaar pleegde generaal Sisi in 2014 een bloedige coup. Sindsdien is hij aan de macht met als gevolg.
− 10 000 fysieke liquidaties van dissidenten
− 60 000 politieke gevangenen die in erbarmelijke omstandigheden verkeren
− marteling
− beperking van de persvrijheid
− enorme groei van de armoede (meer dan 60% van de bevolking leeft onder de armoedegrens)
− het afnemen van de regionale rol van Egypte, met als gevolg de oorlogen in Libië, Syrië, Irak en Yemen

It is unfortunately not the first dictator supported by NL. But it is still amazing how the revolution was cheered by Dutch government and now the same situation exists as before and the people are totally let down.

Atrocious violations of human rights,heinous crimes against humanity, torture of political opposition and garden variety fascist regime
The relations with Sisi must be cut off because he is a criminal and is turned against the legitimate and fighting president .
-A free country like Netherlands shouldn't keep any kind of relationship with a dictator involved in killing thousands of innocent humanbeings, jailing tens of thousands over rediculous charges; being trialed in front of unfair biased courts which doesn't meet the minimum acceptable level of justice. Not to mention thousands in jail for years without being charged to start with. a man who killed democracy in Egypt, leading its economy to iminent demise. a free country like Netherlands should stand by their morals and cut any ties with a corrupt despot causing a massive suffering to his nation and a dangerous chaos within his region.
