The sheer volume of people joining this fight proves that Cornwall Council cannot keep ignoring us while they line their own pockets. These bureaucrats think they can treat our tax money like their personal piggy bank but this momentum shows their days of unchecked greed are numbered.

Please councillors don't rob Cornwall's coffers. You have already wasted money on rubbish schemes, close important facilities such as toilets or give them to town councils, take all the carpark money while putting non of it back into the town. As for letting developers ride roughshod over everyone's wishes and building on every spare piece of green in and around Newquay and also whelching on the building of affordable housing.

As a retired Public Servant I received a zero increase in my money this year; my working colleagues also received a zero pay rise. How does Cornwall Council justify a pay rise, in double figures?

and how much of OUR money was paid to the Independent Review Panel that recommended this obscene rise, and since it recognises the hard work council officials do, can the council re-employ this group to give council employees a rise???

If public services are being cut due to austerity then those elected to serve in public office should not award themselves pay rises or increase expense allowances, no exception!

How can you give yourselves a pay rise when your shutting toilets and other services. You must be short of cash councillors oh that's a lie as Cornwall Council has a very healthy savings account.

Food banks, closed toilets, police stations closed, unusable Internet, disgraceful roads, cuts cuts and then tax increases and for what. Greed!

Didn't Cameron say we're all in this together?
