Rescind The Pay Increase For TLTI Council

345 Signatures Goal: 500

Despite, campaigning for reduced taxes and spending your council has decided to give itself a 60% increase in pay. There was non public discussion or consultation on the matter and the bylaw was passed in one reading. The Mayor of the township had made a campaign promise for a 10% cut in his pay when he was elected. This never happened. Instead he has given himself a multi thousand dollar pay increase. Tell council that this is not acceptable and that this bylaw needs to be rescinded immediately.

There has been much information as to the exact changes percentage increase and what the original salary was: This is what we are basing this on:

Mayor's Original Salary + Expenses $13143: New Salary + Expenses: $20495: = 56% Increase
Deputy Mayor: Original: $11437  New: $18918 = 65% Increase
Councillor Original: $9842 : New: $15765 = 60% Increase
